This feature is available to all users.
We've made some key improvements to how this feature is accessed. We’ve renamed the old terminology "Quick Apply" to enhance clarity and prevent unintended data modifications.
What’s improved:
- Renaming the Feature: "Quick Apply" is now called "Bulk Edit." This new name highlights the significance of the changes you're making to the data.
- New Pencil Icon: The checklist icon has been replaced with a pencil icon to better represent the editing function.
- Selection Default: The 'Select All' option in the Bulk Edit modal is now off by default. This change helps prevent unintended bulk changes that occurred when it was on by default.
- Additional Confirmation Step: Similar to our Uploader feature, there is now an extra checkbox in the final step of the Bulk Edit process. You must check this box before confirming your changes to ensure you are fully aware of them before they go live.
How to Use Bulk Edit
When you need to make changes across many records in your campaign, Bulk Edit is the way to go. Here’s how it works:
Click on the Pencil Icon / Bulk Edit at the top of the Wall Chart
Select the type of bulk edit needed
Select the entities that need editing
Click the checkbox to confirm the changes
Click the Yes, apply changes button
Action Builder’s Bulk Edit feature is a game-changer for organizers, enabling quick and seamless edits to entities directly from the Wall Chart list view. Bulk Edit can help organizers update records quickly and efficiently instead of updating entities manually or by uploading files to Action Builder.
Use Case Example:
Imagine you’re managing a campaign and need to update the contact status for hundreds of volunteers after an event. With the Bulk Edit feature, you can easily select all relevant contact records from the Wall Chart, choose the update action, and apply the changes in one click. This not only saves you time but also minimizes the risk of errors that come with manual data entry or file uploads.
By keeping your data current with Bulk Edit, you can focus more on strategic tasks rather than administrative ones. This streamlined process boosts productivity and ensures your campaign runs smoothly and efficiently.
