At the heart of strategic campaign planning lies the need to quickly identify where an individual stands. The color-coded assessments in Action Builder facilitate this, providing an instant visual cue across all views of the Wall Chart. This ensures that you can swiftly make strategic decisions based on a person's assessment.
While the flexibility of Action Builder allows for various configurations, it's essential to note that each instance can only have one assessment scale per entity type – it’s still one assessment scale for your instance, but you can create custom labels and descriptions on that same scale per entity type. This scale can be tailored to your needs, whether as a ladder of engagement or a support scale. To illustrate, a person assessed as '1' could signify a staunch supporter, while a '5' might indicate someone strongly opposed to your campaign's objectives. An organization assessed as a ‘1’ could signify a strong coalition partner, while a ‘5’ might be organizing opposition. The colors and numbers of your assessment scale will be the same across all entity types, but you can customize the labels and descriptions for each one.
Configuring Assessments
Currently, you can only have one assessment scale for your instance, with labels that can be customized by entity type.*NOTE: After adding a new assessment level it cannot be removed. You can add additional levels, but not remove existing levels. You can change descriptions, details and colors of existing levels at any time. By default, all entity types will use the Default (Global Settings) options. However, you can change the label and description text per entity type by selecting the entity type from the drop-down menu.
How to Set Up Assessments
- In the Admin Menu on the left sidebar, click Assessments
- With the default (global settings) option selected in the drop-down menu, choose the assessments you want to use instance-wide, and select a color for each assessment level. The selected colors will be the same across all entities. You can also choose a default label that will be used across every entity unless you decide to customize them.
- If there's a need to introduce an additional level, click on the "Add" button located at the bottom of the page.
- Once you're satisfied with your default configurations, select "Save Changes".
- Click the “Show assessment labels for…” dropdown to customize Assessment labels and descriptions for each entity type.
Assessments in Action Builder serve as a crucial metric for campaign strategists. Setting them up requires forethought, but with the steps outlined above, you're equipped to create an efficient and impactful assessment system for your organization.
