Complex Filters lets you create more complicated queries than are possible from the main Wall Chart query feature. You can use this feature to answer questions like, 'How many people work either for this employer with this particular job title, or at this other employer with a similar but different job title?"
The Complex Filters features are virtually identical to those available in the standard query interface found in other areas of the tool, for example, the WallChart. However, the Complex Filters allow you to link together groups of query filters using logical operators.
Access the Complex Filters features via the customize tab on your campaign.
Complex Filters use 'AND' and 'OR' logic. By combining 'AND' and 'OR' operators with different filter options, complex filters allow you to create nested queries of different filters. This allows you to identify individuals who match different sets of criteria.
The available filters are virtually identical to those available in the standard query interface. It is possible to add a 'Filter', or a 'Filter Group', a group of filters that can be grouped independently using 'AND' or 'OR' operators.
In the above example Assessment and Follow Up are part of a filter group with an OR operator between them. And Entity Type is a Filter, separated by the above filter group by an AND operator. This query would return any People assessed as a 1,2,3 OR People who have an outstanding follow up with any user.
Other important notes:
- At the bottom you see the count of the number of entities that will be returned by the query. Hit refresh to update that number as you build out your complex filter.
- You can use the red trash can icon to delete any step in the complex filter you have created.
- As always, don't forget to hit save!
Note: Filters are evaluated from top to bottom.
From the campaign WallChart select the Complex Filter and run query.
