*Activist Account Limitations: All Users Can Access the Feature, but Activists Cannot Promote Users
The profile page in Action Builder is your central hub for managing and viewing detailed information about entities such as people or organizations. Here’s how to effectively access and use this feature.
Accessing the Profile Page
- From the Wall Chart: Click on the entity or person you want to view. This will take you directly to their profile page.
Merging Entities with Shared Contact Information
Entities may sometimes share contact information, such as email addresses or phone numbers. This can indicate either legitimate shared use (e.g., family members sharing a home phone) or potential duplicates.
- Identifying Shared Contacts: An icon on the profile page now indicates if the entity shares contact information with others in the same campaign and of the same entity type.
- Merging Duplicates: Click on the icon to view potential duplicates. You can then review the details of these entities and choose to merge them if appropriate. Once you click ‘merge’, the process is the same as merging directly from an entity profile.
Managing Address Types for Better Mapping and Filtering
Action Builder now allows you to specify whether an address is for physical or mailing purposes, improving the accuracy of your maps and filters.
- Physical Address: Used for mapping and will appear in mappable areas like the wall chart and driving directions.
- Mailing Address: Excluded from mappable features and should be used for addresses like PO Boxes.
Updating Address Types:
- You can update address types manually, via bulk upload, or through the API. By default, all new and existing addresses are marked as “Physical,” except for known PO Boxes, which are set to “Mailing.”
Profile Page Layout
Summary Section
At the top of the profile page, you’ll find key details about the entity, such as their name, location, and the latest assessment status.
- Flag Icon: Use this to mark individuals needing follow-up or special attention.
- Promote Button: If you have permissions, you can promote the entity to an Action Builder user by creating an account for them.
Contact Icons
Below the summary, you'll see icons for email, phone, text, and map. Click on these icons to quickly contact the individual using the chosen method.
Quick Action Buttons
Quick action buttons allow you to add new assessments, relationships, or information to the entity’s profile at the top of the page.
Edit and + Add Buttons
- Edit: Modify existing information about the entity.
- + Add: Enter new details to enhance the entity's profile.
Tab Navigation
The location of the tabs will vary depending on whether you are using the desktop or mobile view. In the desktop view, the tabs are located at the top of the profile, while in the mobile view, they are at the bottom. The tabs include Profile, Activity, Info, and Notes. Click on these tabs to view or update specific information.
Adding Addresses
When adding addresses, you can specify the country, which narrows down the autofill suggestions to that country only. This ensures accurate address information and speeds up data entry. Steps to Add an Address:
- Navigate to the address section on the profile.
- Select the country from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the remaining address details, such as street, city, and postal code.
- Save your changes.
Note: The default country for autofill is set in the Campaign Customization settings.
Adding Social Media Information
The 'Social' section allows you to add social media contacts to an entity’s profile, similar to how you add addresses or phone numbers. This feature must be enabled by an Admin at the organizational level.
